Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role creates value through excellence in financial reporting, business partnering, and process improvement. This role will be responsible for components of preparation of financial information (both on a consolidated basis for GP LLC and for the Corporate segment), management reporting, and the monthly close process. The role will also be involved in other specialized accounting areas, such as intercompany accounting, legal entity restructuring transactions, and global statutory reporting.

Location: This is an onsite role at our GP HQ in downtown Atlanta, GA. While GP offers some remote work flexibility, there is a need for hybrid/weekly in-office presence for this role given the importance of fostering relationships and collaborating across several capabilities. We are seeking local applicants, or candidates that are willing to relocate to the area.
What You Will Do- Own various monthly closing activities related to Corporate Accounting areas
- Work with internal and external auditors and support the annual audit process
- Lead and drive cross-functional transformation initiatives
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and information gathering, as requested
- Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Strong experience in financial accounting focused role(s); demonstrating a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, and internal financial controls
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating and building effective partnerships with variety of stakeholders
- Passion for technical accounting topics and strong knowledge in US GAAP accounting and reporting
- Collaboration/Contribution mindset: You seek to build working relationships and partner with others to bridge gaps and solve problems
- Process and Transformation focused: You are flexible and able to prioritize your work in a dynamic environment, embrace change, and improve processes
- Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Copilot) and a desire to learn multiple accounting systems and tools and AI-enhanced processes
- Experience owning month end close processes and financial reporting processes
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead- Corporate Accounting or Financial Reporting experience, especially as it relates to managing intercompany transactions, consolidations, and other complex accounting topics
- Experience providing variance analysis, developing business insights, and bridging between operational and financial reporting
- Experience driving process improvement or transformation, especially with AI tools
- Proficiency with extract-transform-load (ETL) tools such as Alteryx to transform/automate processes
