As a Senior Accountant, Insurance Accounting, you will play a key role in the planning and overseeing of the insurance underwriter (DAC) and other obligor/administrator accounting activities. in areas such as process improvement, quality assurance and accounting/reporting operations.

What you'll accomplish with us

As a Senior Accountant, Insurance Accounting, you'll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly financial close process for the internal underwriter, administrators, and obligors, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries and review of monthly entity financial results
  • Prepare financial reviews for client portfolio, preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, and providing analysis and insights on sales trends to Management
  • Provide client relationship support and engagement including monthly surplus disbursements and other trust reimbursements.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliation and assist Manager with resolution of problem accounts and/or reconciling items.
  • Assist in the development and reporting of relevant KPIs and metrics to optimize the performance and success of the team
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance to uphold operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the facilitation of seamless collaboration with auditors, both internal and external, ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to requests.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
