The RoleSanta Monica, CA | Hybrid (approximately 50% in-office, 2-3 days per week)
We're hiring a Senior Accountant (Accounting Operations)-a strong technical accountant who wants to expand into systems, process improvement, and operational impact.
This role is roughly 75% accounting, 25% operations. You'll own key areas of the close while helping redesign workflows, drive automation, and modernize how accounting operates. What You'll OwnFinancial Accounting & Client Reporting- Support and own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis
- Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, client reporting, and payout processes
- Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and reporting processes
- Support audits and partner with external tax advisors (income + sales/use tax)
Accounting Operations & Systems- Identify inefficiencies across accounting workflows and help redesign them
- Drive automation, system improvements, and process standardization
- Leverage AI and modern tools to improve speed, accuracy, and visibility
- Build scalable, repeatable processes to support growth
Cross-Functional Partnership- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product to align financial and operational workflows
- Help translate financial data into insights that support decision-making
What You Bring- 4-7+ years of accounting experience (High-growth startup preferred)
- Strong GAAP foundation with hands-on close experience
- Demonstrated interest in process improvement, systems, or automation
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience with tools like Stripe, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Notion, or similar
- Familiarity with AI tools with a strong interest in applying them
- Working knowledge of corporate income tax and sales/use tax (marketplace experience a plus)
- CPA preferred but not required
The Perks- Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 + Bonus + Equity
