Security Engineer 4 (SailPoint)

We are seeking Security Engineers who are passionate about building automated controls, cloud security architecture, and DevSecOps solutions to join our team. As a Security Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving major technical transformations and securing enterprise platforms across Capital One.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect, engineer, and deploy enterprise-grade IAM frameworks by utilizing advanced data engineering and programmatic automation to build resilient, high-availability identity solutions.
- Analyze data requirements and requests from management, define operational problems, and develop models and frameworks for validation and problem solving.
- Lead the design and delivery of technology platforms and automated controls across cloud and on-prem environments
- Present complex data analysis concepts to diverse audiences in non-technical areas in clear and concise terms
- Develop advanced automation for vulnerability management, detection, and compliance monitoring
- Partner with software, cloud and infrastructure teams to embed security by design into enterprise platforms
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies, ensuring interoperability and operational scalability
- Influence and codify engineering standards, patterns, and reusable modules
- Participate in ongoing support of security tools, including investigations, analysis and break fix
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
- At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology
- At least 3 years of experience working in a cloud-based environment
- At least 2 years of experience designing and implementing automated security solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of development and operations experience in SailPoint ISC
- 3+ years of experience building specialization and expertise in a focused discipline of cybersecurity
- 4+ years of experience with CI/CD security integration, infrastructure as code, or serverless computing
- 5+ years of development and operations experience in SailPoint IdentityIQ
- 5+ years of experience with security tools such as IAM, endpoint, vulnerability management or network security technologies
- 6+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure security engineering
- Experience leading enterprise-scale architecture or automation initiatives
- One or more professional certifications: CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, CIDPRO or GIAC Cloud Security
- Experience in application security and software development in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD integration

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100 for Security Engineer 4Plano, TX: $179,400 - $204,700 for Security Engineer 4
Richmond, VA: $179,400 - $204,700 for Security Engineer 4
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
