Job Description
What you'll bring
You bring at least five years of hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments. Your expertise includes installation and configuration, patching, package management, systems, kernel tuning, user and access management, storage and file systems, backup and recovery, and integration with enterprise identity services. You can troubleshoot complex performance, application, storage, and network issues and have experience with TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, certificates, and high-availability clustering.
You also have strong Bash, Python, or UNIX shell scripting experience automating system administration using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible. You understand DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, least-privilege access, audit logging, incident response, and change management. Experience administering Linux workloads in AWS including EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, Systems Manager, AWS Backup, and CloudWatch. SAP or other enterprise application experience is an advantage.
What you'll build
You'll be part of a small team responsible for operating and maintaining the cloud and software foundation supporting a standalone SAP solution that meets demanding customer requirements. You'll administer cloud infrastructure and operating systems; support compute, storage, networking, identity, backup, monitoring, patching, and configuration activities; and contribute to architecture and design decisions. You'll apply security and performance standards while maintaining system availability, scalability, recoverability, and operational readiness. You'll use monitoring, logging, and audit capabilities to assess system health, troubleshoot issues, and support incident resolution. You'll also maintain architecture documentation, system configurations, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational runbooks to ensure the environment can be supported and continuously improved.
Where you belong
You'll serve as a hands-on technical contributor on an on-site, security-focused team in Chantilly, Virginia. You'll work closely with system administrators, SAP Basis, network, security, application-support, and customer teams to operate and maintain the environment, troubleshoot issues, resolve incidents, implement approved changes, and support day-to-day service reliability. This role is well suited for a self-directed cloud engineer or system administrator who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and operating-system challenges, communicating clearly across technical teams, and taking ownership of assigned systems and operational responsibilities.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required; a master's degree is preferred. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and must meet the applicable DoD 8140 qualification requirements within six months of hire. Relevant AWS, Linux, Red Hat, security, or systems administration certifications are desired. Visa sponsorship is not available.
