DescriptionThe RoleThe SAP Functional Analyst - MM / WM is responsible for supporting and optimizing procurement, inventory, and warehouse execution processes in a high-volume, time-critical food distribution environment.
This role ensures seamless flow of materials from procurement through warehouse operations to order fulfillment, with working knowledge of SAP SD as an added advantage to support end-to-end supply chain integration.
This position reports to the Director - SAP.
What You'll Do- Own and support SAP MM and WM processes across procurement, inventory, and warehouse operations
- Configure and support SAP MM processes including procurement, purchasing, inventory management, goods receipt, stock transfers, and invoice verification
- Configure and support SAP WM processes including inbound, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and inventory management
- Ensure warehouse operations align with daily fulfillment volumes, freshness requirements, and delivery timelines
- Drive adoption of SAP best practices across MM and WM processes
- Support RF/mobile-enabled warehouse operations where applicable
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and ensure seamless warehouse and distribution execution
- Partner with supply chain, warehouse, and merchandizing teams to gather and translate business requirements
- Configure and manage core MM and WM functionalities including purchasing, inventory management, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping
- Ensure efficient warehouse execution aligned with daily fulfillment volumes and delivery timelines
- Support integration across SAP and external systems using IDocs, EDI, RFCs, and middleware (PI/PO or equivalent)
- Collaborate with ABAP and integration teams on enhancements, reports, and interfaces
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting inventory accuracy, warehouse operations, and order fulfillment
- Participate in testing, system improvements, and SAP upgrades
Cross Functional Responsibilities - Partner with business stakeholders to understand, define, and document requirements, current processes, and system gaps
- Lead requirements gathering and translate business needs into clear functional specifications
- Act as the liaison between business teams and ERP/IT to align on scope, priorities, and delivery timelines
- Design and implement SAP solutions using standard configuration wherever possible
- Develop functional specifications for enhancements where standard SAP capabilities are insufficient
- Support and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, including documentation
- Assist with end-user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer
- Support change management initiatives for system and process improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment
Project & Continuous Improvement- Participate in SAP enhancements, upgrades, and process improvements
- Drive adoption of SAP best practices in production planning
- Improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency through system optimization
What You'll Bring- 5+ years of SAP functional experience with strong focus on MM and WM in SAP ECC 6.0 or higher.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 full lifecycle SAP implementations and/or major enhancement or upgrade engagements
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM and WM, with practical working knowledge of SAP SD
- Experience supporting high-volume, time-sensitive distribution or manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, retail, consumer products, or other high-volume distribution environments
- Exposure to enterprise warehouse platforms such as Manhattan is a plus
- Experience working closely with ABAP and integration teams
- Working knowledge of PP, FI, or SD integration points is a plus
- Relevant SAP certification, or APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP), will be considered an added advantage.
Salary: The salary range for this role is from $130,000 - $160,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
