Role Summary:
The scope of this position includes but is not limited to growing business in ADAS, Body Controls, Infotainment, Connectivity and Electrification/Powertrain in the Detroit area. You will drive roadmaps and execute our growth strategy. You’ll be part of a global go-to Market team that delivers 2x market growth for all NXP’s businesses by building and maintaining strong relationships within the customers and within NXP. You will leverage your knowledge of the industry and customers eco system to position NXP and execute innovative approaches to outmaneuver the competition, win and grow share.
We are seeking a selfadmotivated and proactive Sales Account Manager to support assigned automotive Tier1s by driving design wins, supporting production programs, and executing account strategies across the vehicle lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has 5ad8 years of experience in the semiconductor industry working with automotive OEMs and/or Tier1 suppliers.
Success in this role requires strong understanding of automotive system architectures, Tier1 cost structures, longadcycle programs, and a willingness to continuously upskill in the evolving automotive technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute account strategies that drive sustainable growth across assigned automotive Tier1s
- Maintain regular engagement with engineering, purchasing, and program management teams.
- Manage longadterm automotive programs across designadin, SOP, production, and lifecycle phases.
- Identify and qualify new designadin and socket opportunities aligned to customer vehicle platforms and roadmaps.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, and revenue forecasting.
- Participate in OEM and Tier1 BOM teardown analysis to understand ECU and systemadlevel architectures; identify semiconductor content, competitive positioning, and cost drivers.
- Support competitive displacement strategies and quantify systemadlevel value beyond component pricing.
- Collaborate with FAEs, product marketing, and engineering teams to align product positioning with Tier1 cost, performance, and safety requirements.
- Support automotive RFQs, pricing reviews, and LongadTerm Agreements (LTAs).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelorads degree in Engineering (EE preferred)
- 5-8 years of semiconductor sales experience supporting automotive OEMs or Tier 1s
- Proven negotiation skillsadexternally with customers and internally with crossadfunctional teams
- Understanding of automotive ECUs and network architectures (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Familiarity with semiconductor product categories (MCUs, SoCs, analog, power, sensors)
- Ability to read and interpret Tier1 BOMs, system diagrams, and teardown analyses
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to automotive domains such as:
- ADAS and safety systems
- Body & chassis electronics
- Infotainment / cockpit systems
- EV / powertrain electronics
- Experience in positioning and selling SW products
- Familiarity with:
- Automotive sourcing processes and RFQs
- Functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 ad awareness level)
- PPAP, SOP, and longadterm automotive product lifecycles
- Experience participating in competitive BOM teardown activities
