This is a Day shift position and the schedule is Monday-Friday

No weekends or holidays

10 hour shifts may be available

Summary:
The Burn Outpatient Nurse Coordinator at the NC Jaycee Burn Center provides specialized clinical coordination for burn patients throughout their outpatient recovery. This role is central to ensuring seamless, high quality, patient centered burn care by coordinating clinical services, facilitating communication across the interdisciplinary team, and supporting patients and families as they navigate complex follow up and recovery needs. The coordinator works closely with burn surgeons, APPs, clinic staff, and patients to optimize care delivery while advancing the mission of the UNC Burn Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for new and returning outpatient burn patients and families, addressing care coordination needs and facilitating timely communication
  • Coordinate outpatient burn clinic care, including visit planning, follow up coordination, and transitions from inpatient to outpatient care
  • Collaborate closely with burn surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, therapists, and clinic support staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Support clinic flow and operational efficiency through proactive coordination and problem solving
  • Provide patient and caregiver education related to burn recovery, wound care, scar management, and long term follow up
  • Coordinate referrals, imaging, therapy, and specialty services as needed to support comprehensive outpatient burn care
  • Assist with documentation, tracking, and communication to support safe, efficient, and patient centered clinic operations
  • Participate in clinic based quality improvement and patient experience initiatives
