  • Current RN license in the District of Columbia (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification required or to be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in wound care, ostomy, or enterostomal therapy preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide expert clinical care including wound debridement, ostomy site marking, and stoma care.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on wound, ostomy, and continence management to promote self-care and recovery.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance care quality and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for wound care and enterostomal therapy within the hospital.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Employee Health Registered Nurse with expertise in enterostomal therapy to join our team and provide specialized care for patients requiring wound, ostomy, and continence management.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Health Registered Nurse
  • Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
  • Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Always Demonstrates Service Excellence standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to formulate questions that address clinical issues.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in completing an evidence-based practice literature search.
  • Analyzes best evidence to address a clinical question.
  • Translates evidence into clinical practice through the consistent use of knowledge and evidence.
  • Utilizes clinical reasoning and knowledge based on evidence-based practice outcomes and research studies as the basis for decision making and comprehensive patient care.
