RF EngineerLocation: Broomfield, Colorado, United States; Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
About the TeamThe Anduril Battlespace Awareness Radar team develops state-of-the-art radar systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The Radar team is seeking an experienced
RF Engineer to help us design, test, and deploy the next generation of US radars. The Radar team is responsible for all aspects of radar system development, from the ideation stage through initial production. In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define RF architectures, design, build, and test prototypes, and mature these prototypes into products.
About the JobAnduril is seeking an RF Engineer to build active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs) for radar applications across a range of frequency bands (depending on the program) - from architecture definition through hardware bring-up, field testing, and initial production. The team owns the full stack: antenna element design, RF front-end (RFFE) electronics, array integration, and the test infrastructure to verify it all. We move fast, hold high standards, and are looking for engineers who want their fingerprints on fielded systems.
What You'll Do- Design: Develop the RF design of analog beamforming AESA subsystems - incorporating T/R modules, beamforming ICs, corporate feed networks, and front-end filtering - for radar applications. Conduct trade studies, RF simulations, and prototyping to drive innovation and ensure optimal system performance.
- Cross-Domain Collaboration: Work across antenna, digital, mechanical, and systems engineering to define array architectures that meet the needs of users in the field. Bake in design excellence, including DFM and DFT, so that our systems can support the warfighter for the long-haul.
- Test: Drive RF characterization of AESA hardware - including near-field antenna range measurements, RFFE performance mapping, and system-level radar mode verification. Conduct the troubleshooting process when hardware doesn't behave and drive root cause to closure.
- Support: Provide engineering support at field tests to display product capabilities to customers.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of professional experience in developing RF electronics, phased arrays, antennas or related radar electronics.
- Experience with electronic systems engineering, including design specification, part selection, and test planning for RF systems.
- Proficiency in RF design and analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, or comparable tools.
- Experience in PCB design (schematic capture, specifying and reviewing layout), with experience in tools like Altium.
- Proven ability to break down complex problems and implement innovative solutions with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with RF measurement equipment, including Network Analyzers, Signal Analyzers, and Near Field Scanners.
- Familiarity in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar for design, simulation, and automated testing.
- Demonstrated experience working across multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's in RF/Microwave Engineering.
- Experience designing and testing active phased array radar with beamforming technologies.
- Knowledge of antenna array simulation, design, and manufacturing.
- Experience with PCB technologies for high-frequency RF and high-density interconnect routing, such as microvias, multiple sub-laminations, etc.
TranscriptsWe request transcripts as part of the early application process to understand your academic background and how your coursework supports the skills deemed critical for the role. Transcripts help us assess your technical and analytical abilities, complementing our interview process in which we also evaluate practical experience and cultural fit. If you choose not to share your transcripts, you will need to provide detailed information regarding your academic performance in relevant courses, including projects and coursework specifics, to ensure we evaluate your academic accomplishments properly. If you do provide academic transcripts, feel free to redact non-technical information (e.g., student ID, dates, non-technical coursework, etc.). Unofficial transcripts obtained online acceptable for this assessment.
