Job Summary
As a Resident Engineer at BPMI, you will perform technical functions to execute the BPMI mission in areas including, but not limited to ensuring compliance with contract specifications, oversees quality control, and drives process improvements at BPMI manufacturing suppliers. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing manufacturing processes, evaluating supplier performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role also collaborates with internal teams and vendors to meet project timelines and objectives, promoting technical excellence across all aspects of the project lifecycle, including compliance with industry standards and best practices. This Resident Engineer position provides in-shop quality and manufacturing oversight at our largest manufacturing supplier.
Periodic (~5-10%) travel to other sites is expected. Since the production facilities typically operate on a 24/7 schedule, this position offers some work schedule flexibility in accordance with company policy. Work conditions can include working in confined spaces, areas that are not temperature controlled, elevated platforms and lifts, etc. Personal safety emphasis in a shop environment is a must.
Essential Duties:
Conduct quality and compliance oversight responsibilities for assigned suppliers or components.
Execute engineering tasks, including interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and process information, and assisting in the preparation of technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Draft and maintain detailed records of surveillance including compliance issues, supplier performance, and corrective actions.
Assist in audits, over-inspections, and review corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues.
Support vendor technical submittals by reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies, and assisting with problem-solving to help address root causes and contribute to corrective actions.
Assist in risk mitigation activities by identifying potential issues, documenting them, and suggesting possible solutions to help minimize impact on project timelines and quality.
Update internal stakeholders on manufacturing progress and issues, ensuring deadlines and contract milestones are met.
Compile performance data and report on supplier performance as required.
Collaborate with suppliers to review observations and ensure compliance with the contract and technical requirements.
Contribute to documentation and internal reports for audits and compliance reviews.
Collect feedback from suppliers and report any issues to management for resolution.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Eight (8) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
