Every Cure is seeking a mission-driven
Research Fellow to evaluate, nominate, and advance high-potential drug repurposing opportunities.
This role is designed for a scientific generalist: someone with strong scientific expertise who is intellectually curious, adaptable, and energized by moving across disease areas rather than remaining within a single specialty. The Research Fellow will critically evaluate scientific evidence, identify knowledge gaps, and determine what needs to happen next to advance promising opportunities.
This person will also play a more execution-focused role within the research team, helping move opportunities from evaluation into action through laboratory studies, real-world evidence research, clinical research, and external partnerships. The ideal candidate brings strong scientific judgment, industry experience, and practical experience working with CROs or other third-party research organizations.
While the role is intentionally broad, expertise that adds to the team's existing capabilities - particularly in immunology, aging, computational biology, or biostatistics - will be highly valued.
How you will make an impact: - Evaluate Drug Repurposing Opportunities: Conduct rigorous reviews of potential drug repurposing candidates to assess therapeutic likelihood, feasibility, evidence quality, and potential patient impact, while identifying key knowledge gaps.
- Develop and Execute Advancement Plans: Design and help execute research plans that may include laboratory experiments, real-world evidence studies, and clinical research to determine whether an opportunity should advance.
- Drive Evidence-Based Decisions: Synthesize complex and sometimes conflicting evidence, identify limitations and potential biases, and develop clear recommendations on whether and how an opportunity should move forward.
- Lead External Research Collaborations: Plan and execute research through CROs, external laboratories, academic institutions, and other third-party organizations, including defining research needs and coordinating sponsored research.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Engage with disease experts, researchers, internal teams, and external partners to bring diverse perspectives into the evaluation and advancement of drug repurposing opportunities.
- Contribute to Every Cure's Research Platform: Partner with the Tech team and use emerging technologies, including AI-enabled research tools, to improve how Every Cure identifies, evaluates, and advances opportunities.
- Support Team and Organizational Goals: Contribute new scientific perspectives and practical research capabilities to a growing team, collaborate with the Scientific Advisory Committee on key decisions, and support junior team members as appropriate.
- Disseminate Scientific Findings: Support peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, grant proposals, and other efforts to share Every Cure's research with the broader scientific and patient communities.
What you bring to the team: Education - Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in biomedical sciences or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant academic and/or professional experience.
Experience - Strong foundation in human biology and/or pharmacology.
- Industry experience and an understanding of how scientific research moves from evaluation toward execution.
- Experience critically evaluating laboratory studies, real-world evidence, clinical research, and other forms of scientific evidence.
- Demonstrated experience planning or executing research through CROs, external laboratories, academic collaborators, or other third-party research organizations.
- Experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work across disease areas and quickly develop fluency outside your core scientific specialty.
Skills - Strong scientific judgment and the ability to rigorously analyze and synthesize complex evidence.
- Ability to identify knowledge gaps, biases, limitations, and conflicting findings.
- Ability to translate scientific evidence into clear recommendations and next steps.
- Experience designing and/or interpreting laboratory or real-world evidence studies.
- Comfort using AI-enabled research technologies and emerging scientific tools, or a demonstrated willingness to learn and adopt them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to non-scientific audiences.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable changing course as new evidence emerges.
