Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA Approved Respiratory Care Program (Associates or higher)
  • Current New Jersey State Respiratory Care Board License
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • 1-2 years of preferred experience in Pediatric and Adult critical care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor mechanical ventilatory support
  • Administer non-invasive ventilation support and manage medical gas delivery systems
  • Perform humidification and aerosol therapy, including delivery of aerosolized medications
  • Execute chest physical therapy and various therapies such as vest and IPV therapy
  • Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and acquire arterial blood gases
  • Monitor and analyze transcutaneous measurements and pulse oximetry
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care and assist in internal and external patient transportation

Full Job Description
Short Description

Patient assessment, mechanical ventilatory support monitoring, non-invasive ventilation support, administration of medical gas delivery systems (i.e.: heliox, nitric, oxygen compressed air, etc...).

 

Humidification and aerosol therapy, airway management, delivery of aerosolized & instilled medications, chest physical therapy, vest therapy, IPV therapy, in-exsuffalator therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterialblood gas acquisition & analysis, Transcutaneous pc02 & po2monitoring, pulse oximetry monitoring & trending, ventilatory weaning, peak flow monitoring, assist with bedside tracheostomies, and bronchoscopy.

 

Internal and external patient transporting, patient and family education.

Experience Required

 Post Respiratory Care program graduate.

 

 1-2 years preferred Pediatric and Adult critical care experience.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED and Graduate of an AMA Approved Respiratory Care Program - Associates.

License/Certification Requirements

Current NJ-RESP - New Jersey State Respiratory Care Board License.

 

Valid BLS and ACLS
