Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Licensed & registered RN in good standing in New York State
• Desirable experience with geriatric patients
• Sincere desire to work with elderly, chronically ill, & disabled
• Cooperative spirit and enthusiasm for rehabilitation
• Knowledge of residents' medical and psychological needs
• Strong verbal communication skills with residents, families, & staff

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process in resident care and medication administration
• Report ongoing observations and assessments to charge nurse or unit manager
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic test/lab collection values
• Identify and respond promptly to patient needs
• Exhibit effective interpersonal skills for quality patient care
• Prepare resident assignments based on needs and staff competency
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care activities
