Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Two years of experience with mentally ill patients in an inpatient facility is required.
• Charge Nurse position preferred with two years of Charge Nurse experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of medication administration, particularly psychotropic medications.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as restraint and managing assaultive patients.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital protocols and best nursing practices.
• Supervise and report on nursing activities during shifts when acting as Charge Nurse.
• Coordinate daily shift assignments with the Director of Nursing.
• Oversee admissions and ensure complete documentation in medical records.
• Conduct admission assessments for new patients and manage discharges according to facility requirements.
• Engage in treatment team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
• Administer medications accurately and maintain compliance with clinical regulations.
