First Merchants Bank is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our team! This position will motivate, manage, coach and lead the sales and service activities for all regions. Provide leadership and guidance to Market Leaders and banking center management teams in reviewing goals and objectives, assessing progress to goals and making adjustments as necessary when banking centers are not achieving goals. Develop and implement banking center tactical plans, including routine reviews to assess progress to plans and any adjustments needed to help banking centers execute those plans.
As part of this role you will:
Formulate and expand business development activities for the branch system through aggressive sales & marketing involving ongoing contact with existing and potential customers and with branch staff.
Provide direction to marketing for development and implementation of marketing programs to support strategy execution.
Oversee market leaders, including developing goals and objectives for staff and appraising performance, creating and maintaining a favorable work climate that serves to motivate all staff.
Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of plans for optimum location of banking center offices.
Develop, coordinate, request and supervise ongoing training programs for Market Leaders, Banking Center Managers, and banking center staff on sales, management, supervisory techniques, operations, etc.
Maintain a plan for market leaders, operations manager and banking center managers succession planning.
Provide leadership, motivation and advice to market leaders, operations manager, and banking center managers concerning staffing, performance and other employee issues.
Maintain open communication to staff through regular meetings and electronic communications.
Review financial reports of banking center activities to analyze individual branch performance and detect trends.
Lead, coach, and assist market leaders and banking center managers in scorecard results.
Manage internal team communications including newsletters, sales results and updates, and campaign development, goals and results.
In conjunction with the leadership team develop sales and service strategy.
In conjunction with the leadership team evaluate incentive plan and performance measures for appropriate adjustments and changes.
To be successful in this position, we require the following:
Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, business or a related field.
A minimum of eight (8) years of sales management experience.
This position requires S.A.F.E Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Employees hired or transferring into this position will need to meet the qualification requirements within three (3) months of hire.
Extensive travel required, must have the ability to travel daily to banking centers within assigned region(s).
