The Regional Manager oversees operations across our Indiana and Ohio locations and leads the Location Managers who run each site. You'll work closely with the US Soybean & Wheat Operations Manager and the other Regional Managers to keep customers satisfied, keep operations safe and efficient, and grow our soybean and wheat business. Continuous improvement runs through every part of this role. You'll look for better ways to operate at each location and then put them into practice.
Description- Supervise and support the Location Managers across the region
- Help Location Managers develop the employees at their sites
- Conduct annual performance reviews for each Location Manager
- Build a strong safety culture
- Evaluate field and plant operations and put improvements in place
- Make sure Quality Management System (QMS) procedures are implemented and followed
- Serve as the go-to resource for day-to-day operational questions from locations across the region
- Analyze profitability at each location and find ways to improve it
- Review improvement opportunities with the US Soybean & Wheat Operations Manager and carry out the resulting plans
- Contribute to annual budgets and capital expenditure planning
- Support crop planning and the placement of volumes across the region
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers and make sure their needs are met
- Keep up with industry trends and regulatory changes and assess how they could affect the business
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of management experience
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Live in the region or be willing to relocate, ideally to the Indianapolis/Central Indiana area
- Able to travel about 50% across Indiana and Ohio, with occasional overnight stays
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Experience in agriculture, seed production, or grain operations preferred
- Experience managing managers across more than one site
- Regularly visit production plants and field locations
- Walk, stand, and climb stairs in plant and field settings
- Work outdoors in seasonal conditions and in plant environments with noise and dust
