Action is seeking Full-Time Regional Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Texas
Summary:
The Regional Engineering Supervisor provides technical expertise, operational oversight, and leadership support for engineering and maintenance services across Action Property Management's portfolio of high-rise, mid-rise, and other managed communities.
This position is responsible for evaluating building maintenance programs, implementing engineering best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the professional development of onsite engineering and maintenance teams. The Regional Engineering Supervisor serves as a key resource to General Managers, engineering personnel, and regional leadership in troubleshooting complex building systems, managing capital improvement projects, and maintaining safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities.
Additionally, this role oversees designated roving maintenance and in-unit service teams, supports new property transitions, and helps establish consistent engineering standards across the portfolio.
This is a hybrid position requiring a combination of remote work, onsite property visits, and in-person meetings. Must be available to respond to after-hour property emergencies, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Must be willing and able to travel to various locations throughout Texas and California for company meetings, training, and other business needs.
Compensation: $130k to $150
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM plus after hour emergencies
What You'll Do (Job Duties)
Engineering Operations & Maintenance
• Oversee maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Develop and implement standardized preventative maintenance programs, inspection procedures, and reporting systems.
• Conduct property inspections to evaluate equipment conditions, maintenance standards, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve building performance, energy efficiency, and operational costs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to General Managers and onsite engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, permits, inspections, and safety requirements.
Vendor Management & Capital Projects
• Assist with developing scopes of work, evaluating vendor proposals, and reviewing service contracts.
• Provide technical oversight and recommendations for major repairs, equipment replacements, and capital improvement projects.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor partnerships, purchasing programs, and utility incentives.
• Support management teams in addressing escalated engineering concerns and presenting recommendations to Boards of Directors.
Team Leadership & Development
• Coach, mentor, and train Chief Engineers, Building Engineers, and maintenance personnel.
• Evaluate technical capabilities, identify training needs, and establish engineering best practices.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and management teams to interview and assess engineering candidates.
• Supervise designated roving maintenance and in-unit service teams, ensuring service quality, productivity, and financial performance.
• Facilitate engineering meetings and training sessions to promote collaboration and consistency.
Operational & Management Support
• Prepare inspection reports, maintenance assessments, and recommendations for management and Boards of Directors.
• Support engineering operations during new property transitions, building commissioning, and startup activities.
• Develop emergency response procedures and provide assistance during property emergencies.
• Provide temporary onsite engineering coverage when needed.
• Support business development efforts, special maintenance projects, and other engineering initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are (Skills/Experience)
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or related operations preferred.
• Prior experience supervising or leading engineering and maintenance personnel required.
• Experience with high-rise residential, luxury condominium, hospitality, or commercial buildings strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building automation, and fire/life safety systems.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety standards.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with maintenance management software preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned properties as required.
Education/Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or training in engineering, facilities management, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• EPA Technician Certification
• EPA Universal Section 608
• HVAC certificate
• High Rise Fire Safety Director (within 6 months of hire)
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds as needed.
