Full Job Description
The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is a senior field operations leader responsible for the performance, stability, and leadership effectiveness of multiple NeuLife Rehabilitation locations. The RDO serves between the Chief Operating Officer and assigned Executive Directors, translating enterprise strategy into consistent execution while enabling the COO to remain focused on strategy, Marketing, National Admissions, business growth and development, expansion, and other Company priorities.
The RDO owns assigned regional operational, financial, quality, compliance, workforce, and leadership results. Executive Directors retain accountability for the daily operations and results of their individual locations. The RDO holds assigned Executive Directors accountable, develops leadership capability, manages escalations to the COO, and intervenes when a location requires stabilization or performance recovery. Responsibilities
Provide direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance accountability for assigned Executive Directors.
Translate Company priorities into clear expectations, operating rhythms, measures, and follow-through.
Conduct regular operating reviews and site visits to evaluate performance, risk, leadership practices, culture, and execution.
Ensure facility stability by monitoring performance trends, leadership capacity, staffing reliability, regulatory readiness, incident patterns, financial results, and continuity of operations.
Establish and lead stabilization plans for facilities experiencing leadership transition, operational disruption, performance deterioration, or elevated risk.
Serve as the primary operational escalation point with assigned Executive Directors for significant facility, person-served, family, employee, staffing, regulatory, safety, financial, or service-delivery concerns.
Escalate material enterprise risk, unresolved barriers, or decisions requiring executive authority to the COO with facts, options, and recommendations.
Set expectations for leadership behavior, communication, judgment, decision-making, accountability, and follow-through.
Assess Executive Director effectiveness using performance data, site observations, stakeholder input, and documented commitments.
Identify high-potential leaders and create development assignments, cross-training, and readiness plans.
Ensure interim coverage and continuity plans are established before foreseeable leadership gaps become facility crises.
Monitor census, utilization, revenue, labor, overtime, productivity, controllable expenses, and other agreed operating measures. Review material variances, validate root causes, and require time-bound recovery plans with measurable outcomes.
Provide the COO with timely KPI's, operational updates, risk visibility, and decision-relevant operating insights.
Ensure assigned locations operate in accordance with applicable federal, state, licensing, accreditation, payer, and company requirements.
Ensure assigned Executive Directors maintain required records, reports, licenses, inspection documentation, and evidence of corrective action.
Identify patterns across locations, distinguish isolated facility issues from systemic barriers, and coordinate solutions.
Model NeuLife values, integrity, transparency, accountability, and respect for persons served, families, and employees.
Support employee engagement, retention, communication, and change adoption through strong local leadership.
Other duties as assigned; this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the position.
