Full Job Description

GFT is seeking a RAM Engineer to join our Practice or CBG Team our of either Ontario, Alberta; or British Colombia.

Under the supervision of a Senior RAM Engineer or RAMS Manager, the RAM Engineer supports Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability activities throughout the lifecycle of rail transit systems projects.

The RAM Engineer develops reliability analyses, maintainability studies, performance models, maintenance concepts, and RAM requirements. Familiarity with system safety concepts and interaction between safety and RAM activities is expected.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Support execution of project RAM programs.
  • Develop RAM requirements and performance targets.
  • Conduct reliability analyses using recognized engineering methods.
  • Support preparation of Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and availability models.
  • Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA) activities.
  • Assist in development of maintenance strategies and maintenance concepts.
  • Support spare parts optimization and lifecycle cost evaluations.
  • Review supplier and contractor RAM submissions.
  • Support RAM demonstrations and performance verification activities.
  • Coordinate with safety and systems engineering teams.
  • Support technical proposals and business development efforts.
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related STEM discipline.
What we prefer you bring:
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer registration considered an asset.
  • 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Reliability Block Diagrams, FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Markov techniques, or maintainability analysis.
  • Knowledge of CENELEC EN 50126.
  • Familiarity with railway operations and maintenance principles.
  • Awareness of system safety concepts and hazard management processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in technical reporting and documentation.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $97,000.00 - $144,000.00. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
