Full Job Description
The Radiation Oncology Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations of the Radiation Oncology department. Oversees a collaborative interdisciplinary team, consisting of Radiation Therapists, Nurses and Administrative staff to ensure a high quality, cost-effective service is delivered in support of the hospital's and Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute strategic plan, functional goals and objectives. • Provides direction and oversight of the department modeling effective, efficient operations, including supervising the scheduling and assignment of work, assisting with resolving processing problems, and collecting data to monitor progress. • Supports and models change recommending and implementing new opportunities and innovation. • Supports and assists the staff and director in Lean Daily Management • Implements and monitors departmental goals and objectives that align with the strategic direction of the organization including the hospital and the cancer institute and attains set goals and objectives within the specified time frames. • Implements individual performance expectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and work group objectives Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor's degree in healthcare management of related field Experience: • Five (5) years clinical experience in Radiation Oncology • Five (5) years supervisory/management experience Licensure, Certification, Registration: • Valid Connecticut State Radiographer's License. • ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: • Experience with GE CT Sim, Varian Novalis Tx, Varian True Beam, Nucletron HDR. & Varian Ethos with adaptive planning strongly preferred.
