The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators at Unit 3 and 4 and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has signed a long-term Preferred Supplier Agreement for steam generator replacements at the plant's remaining units as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
The Quality Inspector, Mechanical, is responsible for the performance of all quality functions and duties as related to the SGRT construction activities. The position reports to the Project Quality Supervisor.
What You'll Do Here
• Participate in the execution of the Inspection and Test Plans
• Perform quality inspection in accordance with the project's quality program, the related codes and customer specifications.
Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:
• Dimensional inspections
• Visual welding inspection
• Work in assorted respirators (clean shaven as required) and plastics (as required)
• Radiological environments
• Participate in the execution of the required inspections as outlined in the Construction and Inspection Test Plans
• Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required
• Perform internal weld monitoring as required
• Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections
• Writing and tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests
• Support site QC activities associated with the project requirements
What You Bring To The Team
• Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at the University or College level
• W178 Level 2 Visual Weld inspection required
• Knowledgeable in ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear, CWB experience, and other Technical Standards and Codes associated with the project
• Experienced in MS Office and other Microsoft programs
• Previous experience in receiving inspections and controls within a Nuclear Qualified Program would be considered an asset
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Able to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization with view to implementing quality requirements and objectives

Pay Range: $37 - $45 per hour
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
