Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality Focus)
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Reports To: Director of Quality
U.S. Citizenship Requirement: Due to U.S. Government contract requirements applicable to this position, only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment in this role.


Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineer with a passion for supplier quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence. While initially focused on Supplier Quality, this position is part of our long-term vision to build an agile Quality Engineering organization. The successful candidate will independently translate strategic objectives into tactical execution, build strong supplier partnerships, leverage analytics to proactively identify risk, and drive measurable business results.


What You'll Do
•    Own supplier quality performance from qualification through production.
•    Develop trusted supplier relationships while driving accountability for quality, delivery and continuous improvement.
•    Lead supplier audits, source inspections and First Article Inspection activities.
•    Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure effective technical flow-downs.
•    Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and Key/Critical Characteristics.
•    Drive root cause analysis and supplier development activities.
•    Develop dashboards, KPIs and predictive metrics to proactively identify supplier risk.
•    Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, process capability and process validation activities as appropriate.
•    Support continuous improvement and the evolution of the Supplier Delegated Source Inspection Program.
•    Travel to supplier locations as business needs require.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
•    Experience supporting supplier quality, manufacturing quality or regulated manufacturing environments.
•    Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
•    Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
•    Strong ownership, communication and project management skills.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel; Power BI or similar analytics tools are highly desirable.


Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Process Capability.
•    AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
•    Lean Six Sigma certification.
•    Experience supporting complex machining, electronics, composites or energetic materials suppliers.
