Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-installation meetings to establish quality expectations.
  • Identify potential quality concerns, perform root cause analysis, and aid in remediation efforts.
  • Review installed work for adherence to project requirements and Pepper's quality standards.
  • Prepare organized reports detailing field observations and corrective actions.
  • Support project teams in recognizing opportunities for quality improvement throughout construction.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Quality Engineer who is passionate about construction quality, enjoys being in the field, and thrives working alongside project teams to deliver exceptional results. This role supports quality initiatives across multiple active projects by assisting with quality planning, conducting jobsite visits, participating in pre-installation meetings, and helping identify opportunities to improve field execution.

At Pepper, Quality Engineers are collaborative partners to our project teams. They work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and trade partners to promote quality throughout every phase of construction while helping reduce risk, improve consistency, and support successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits, audits, and inspections across multiple active projects, documenting observations and communicating findings to project teams.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Job-Specific Quality Plans to support consistent execution throughout the construction process.
  • Participate in pre-installation meetings with project teams and trade partners to help establish quality expectations before work begins.
  • Serve as a resource to project teams by identifying potential quality concerns, assisting with root cause analysis, and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Review installed work for compliance with project requirements, drawings, specifications, and Pepper quality standards.
  • Prepare clear, organized reports documenting field observations, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Support project teams in identifying opportunities to improve quality, coordination, and constructability throughout construction.
  • Provide assistance to Integrated Construction Services (ICS) teams as needed on quality-related initiatives.
  • Participate in industry education, training opportunities, and continuous learning to expand technical knowledge of building systems and construction best practices.
  • Promote and support Pepper's safety culture by working safely and encouraging safe work practices on every jobsite.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of construction, field engineering, quality, inspection, design, or related industry experience.
  • Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Ability to identify construction quality issues and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel locally between multiple jobsites throughout the day.
  • Industry certifications (or willingness to obtain), such as ACI, RRO, REWO, or CABS, are a plus.


The target salary for this position is $85,000 to $110,000. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
