Job Title: Psychiatrist (Full-Time)

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team on a part-time basis at Deep Creek Youth Academy in Hastings, FL. Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and clinical supervision for psychiatric services.


  • Conduct clinical diagnostic evaluations, treatment team consultations, and medical prescription management.


  • Supervise the psychiatric nurse practitioner while providing clinical guidance to the medical team.


  • Direct the development and implementation of psychiatric protocols, including seclusion policies and administration of PRN medication.


  • Serve as the Designated Mental Health Authority for the facility, as required by contract or state/local regulations.


  • Participate in ongoing clinical in-service training and development activities.


  • Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Education: Must hold a valid state license as a Psychiatrist.


  • Experience: One to two years of experience in direct-care delivery of treatment or clinical services, plus one year of supervisory experience preferred. Experience in residential DJJ programs, offender treatment programs, group work modalities, child welfare, and substance abuse treatment is highly desirable.


  • Skills: Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of staff and residents in a participatory management environment.


  • Physical Demands: Ability to periodically work extended hours and respond to mental health crises as needed. Must be able to assist staff in restraining youth using approved behavior management techniques. PAR certification preferred. Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state.


  • Other: Must meet state criminal background check requirements and maintain employment eligibility status.
