Hatch has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Municipal Water & Wastewater Project Manager in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will contribute to the leadership of the water group and support the technical direction of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of project management including: proposal development; client interaction and overall technical oversight of a project;
  • Conducts comprehensive engineering planning, design, and operational studies of water and wastewater utilities systems, including stormwater management and "green" sustainable infrastructure technology applications;
  • Prepare project bidding documents for municipal water and wastewater projects including plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules;
  • Determine design criteria in accordance with required standards and codes for assigned projects with water and wastewater utilities, including stormwater and "green" sustainable infrastructure;
  • Design of site developments, linear infrastructure and water and wastewater facilities, including: site grading, roads, water distribution, sanitary and storm sewer systems, stormwater management / drainage systems, and pump stations;
  • Review and check engineering drawings, plans, computations, estimates and reports for completeness, accuracy, and soundness of applied engineering principles and with standards and policies;
  • Provide guidance and work supervision for drafting designers and junior engineers as required by projects;
  • Client development and management to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of the Clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited University;
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design projects;
  • Professional Engineer Registration in the State of Pennsylvania and the ability to obtain registration in other states through reciprocity;
  • Knowledge of civil and/or other engineering principles and techniques related to municipal engineering and water and wastewater utilities, stormwater management and "green" sustainable infrastructure technologies;
  • Ability to apply sound utility engineering principles to both operational and design issues;
  • Ability to write general and technical specifications, lead the development of project design drawings and prepare project bidding packages in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Ability to schedule design and construction projects, prepare engineering and construction cost estimates;
  • Ability to interpret national and local codes and standards to insure compliance;
  • Extensive people management skills including mentoring;
  • Demonstrable business development and planning experience;
  • Track record in a consultancy role with extensive exposure to client-facing work;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; build relationships and influence effectively, with colleagues, clients and stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments.
