Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing large, highway construction projects through scheduling, negotiating, reviewing and monitoring the requirements of project contracts and preconstruction meetings. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control projects progress to assure completion within schedule,
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects assigned within budget,
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with clients, FMCC personnel and subcontractors,
  • Reviews project proposal to coordinate financial, timing and procedures to complete project on time and within budget,
  • Establishes work plan and staffing needs for each project phase, coordinates on recruitment efforts,
  • Consults with project staff to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities and authority,
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule within prescribed budget,
  • Analyzes status reports for management, client, or others,
  • Collaborates with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems,
  • Coordinates project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors,
  • Manages engineers, superintendents, and foremen who supervise other project employees,
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned employees,
  • Experience in interpreting blueprints, drawings and maps, scope specifications, and related documents,
  • May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of Project Management experience in heavy highway, bridge and/or utility construction,

  • Proficient in Primavera P6, MicroStation and Microsoft Office,
  • Must be willing to travel if required,
    Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
    Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer,
  • Finger dexterity for extensive amounts of typing,
  • Must be able to lift up-to 20 pounds at a time,
  • This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction to tools (glasses, contacts),
  • Climbing stairs daily to get to workstation.

Note: This is an on-site position and requires the ability to work in the office during standard business hours.
