Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership- Lead DAS, small cell, public safety and in-building wireless projects from kickoff through closeout.
- Provide leadership and direction to engineering, field operations, construction and subcontractor teams.
- Ensure project objectives align with customer requirements, carrier standards and company goals.
- Maintain accountability for project performance, quality, schedule and financial results.
Project Planning & Execution- Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities.
- Coordinate engineering, permitting, procurement, staging, installation, commissioning and closeout activities.
- Manage labor resources, materials, RF equipment, test equipment, subcontractors and customer deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule or budget.
- Ensure successful commissioning, acceptance testing and customer turnover.
Customer & Stakeholder Management- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, OEMs and project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and executive updates.
- Manage customer expectations and drive timely issue resolution.
- Build long-term customer relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.
Financial Management- Manage project budgets, forecasting, labor utilization, procurement and profitability.
- Review project costs, change orders, purchase orders, invoices and revenue projections.
- Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate project reporting and financial documentation.
Technical Coordination- Coordinate with RF engineers, design teams, construction managers, commissioning technicians and OEM partners.
- Support review of DAS designs, equipment submittals, bill of materials and installation standards.
- Ensure compliance with carrier requirements, OEM specifications, local codes and customer standards.
- Oversee testing documentation, closeout packages, and final customer acceptance.
Risk, Quality & Safety- Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Qypsys quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
- Conduct project reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Communication & Reporting- Maintain accurate project schedules, documentation and reporting.
- Prepare executive project updates, financial forecasts and customer reports.
- Utilize Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planner, Excel, and ERP/project management systems to monitor project performance.
- Coordinate communication across engineering, field operations, customers, vendors and leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience in telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, or low-voltage construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing Distributed Antenna System (DAS), small cell, or in-building wireless projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Planner, or similar project management software.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience with major wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Dish) and OEM platforms such as Corning, CommScope, JMA, SOLiD, or ADRF.
- Experience with Public Safety DAS (ERCES), BDA systems, and NFPA/IFC compliance.
- Familiarity with RF testing, commissioning, PIM testing, fiber optics, and structured cabling.
- Experience managing construction subcontractors and field installation teams.
- Knowledge of permitting, AHJ coordination and closeout documentation.
