Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple mechanical construction projects, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain project specifications and scope throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise Project Engineers and General Superintendents to ensure project efficiency.
  • Collaborate with field supervision to organize project work and ensure compliance with all contract documents.
  • Review and ensure compliance of contracts and subcontracts to safeguard accountability.
  • Create comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and financial records.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are observed on-site in collaboration with the company safety professional.
  • Manage procurement of materials and equipment in accordance with accounting policies.

Position Summary

Our company is seeking a construction project management professional that willbe responsible forHVAC and plumbing related constructionprojectsi.e.managing, supervising, planning, communicating,executingand completing assigned projects. The position carries the responsibility to ensure that the project is implemented effectively within cost, schedule,qualityand safety parameters

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple full mechanical construction projects ofvarious sizes.

  • Maintaining andmonitoringgeneral conditions, workscopeand specifications of project contract/subcontracts 6 before, during and upon completion of project.

  • Supervising Project Engineers and General Superintendents.

  • Collaborating with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work andassurecompliance with contractual documents, plans, and specifications.

  • Reviewing contracts and subcontract agreements ensuring compliance and accountability.

  • Creating projectschedule ofvalues, projectbudgetand cost code schedule.

  • Ensuring proper safety policies and methods areutilizedon assigned projects in conjunction with our company Safety Professional and stated policy.

  • Effectivelypurchasematerials, equipment and subcontracts andmaintainon-going controls and recordsin accordance withaccounting policies.

  • Composing andsubmittingprogress payment applications, review subcontractor payment applications.

  • Collaborating with the design team on design-build projects.

  • Developing favorable relationships with clients in a business development capacity.

  • Proven project management skills with a minimum of 8 years9 experience in project management with full mechanical contracting or related construction firms.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Protects the companys interest by managing all financial aspects of the contract.

  • Reviews the final estimate and ensures the proper loading of those numbers into the project cost system.

  • Prepares andsubmitsvarious contract billings to ensure proper cash flow during contract performance.

  • Provides periodic status and end of contract cost and budget analysis.

  • Reviews all schedules of values for contract billings toassurebillings are done ahead of our cost.Usualoverbilling goal is to be billed 20% greater than our costs.

  • Completes project closeout within 2 weeks of warranty date or final project billing to obtain retainage funding.

  • Completes lien process when contract issues call for its use.

Required Qualifications

  • Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering degree desired or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Experience with New Construction and Renovation projects is highly desirable.

  • Proficiencywith software tools including TimberlineaccountingSoftware, MS. Word, Excel, Outlook,CADand other related engineering software tools.

  • Proficient in multiple trades (Specifically HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Building Automation Systems).

  • Experience with design-build/design-assist construction. Ability to work with the design team.

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability tointerface withconstruction industry professionals with professionalism and credibility.

  • Must be able to prepare/coordinate on submittals/shop drawings and operations and maintenance manuals.

  • Negotiating experience in construction change orders and project presentations isrequired.

  • High achievement orientation and execution.

  • A minimum of three years experience managing PMs andPEs.
