Contributes to the overall success of the Term Lending System (Mortgage) inside Canadian Banking Technology in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Work with peers and customers to support agile lab designs and ensure deliverables are according to Scotiabank's internal policies, standards and templates based on business, project and systems specs
  • Participate in project planning, estimate and review processes
  • Ability to showcase progress in projects/initiatives/programs, holding people accountable to their commitments and making sure we are on track for successful delivery
  • Assisting senior management to enforce standards and methodology; ensuring solutions are in line with the technology standard/roadmap and mentoring the technical team members on a project to project basis
  • Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
  • Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
  • Work on multiple complex projects/initiatives as a delivery leader
  • Present and leverage technical information and solutions in a way that establishes trust relationships, persuades stakeholders and achieves understanding and consensus at all levels
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in managing the E2E delivery in complex system built various technology.
  • 10+ years of experience in driving dev team to meet project/initiative with collaboration with business and other system partners.
  • Strong technical background (i.e. ability to read code, provide feedback, knowledge of software design patterns);
  • Working experience in an Agile environment with complex project delivery;
  • Flexible and ready to adapt to a dynamic environment;
  • Solid understanding of software release process (environments, binary repositories, CI/CD);
  • Attention to details, high standards for quality, ability to balance risk with technological advancements;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with ability to build and foster relationships with business users, project stakeholders, strategic technology partners and external vendors;
  • Hands-on technical working experience in modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiatives.
  • 10+ years of experience with banking domain (specially in Mortgage area) is an asset.
  • Experience with Cloud-based applications (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with SOAP/RESTful services is an asset;
  • Mainframe interaction experience is an asset;
