Based in Toronto or Montréal within WSP's ERI sector, this hybrid Project Engineering Manager role will lead multidisciplinary engineering execution for large, complex mining projects across the complete engineering, procurement, construction, and construction management lifecycle. You'll connect technical excellence with disciplined project delivery, guide field engineering teams, and build strong relationships with clients, discipline leaders, project controls, and construction partners to deliver safe, coordinated, and high-quality outcomes.

Your Impact
  • Lead the preparation, review, coordination, and quality control of technical documentation required to execute complex multidisciplinary mining projects.
  • Drive engineering strategy by defining deliverables, developing schedules, forecasting resource needs, and aligning qualified personnel with project priorities and milestones.
  • Manage engineering budgets, productivity, progress, and performance, identifying trends early and implementing action plans to protect cost, schedule, quality, and client outcomes.
  • Strengthen project execution by improving work processes and tools, introducing innovative approaches, and capturing continuous-improvement ideas for future assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Client Engineering Manager, discipline leads, project management, project controls, construction personnel, and field teams to enable timely decisions and effective interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Champion WSP's Quality Management System and health, safety, and environment requirements while fostering ethical practice, technical innovation, accountability, inclusion, and continual improvement.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in a Canadian province or territory.
  • 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership and supervisory responsibility in the mining sector with direct exposure to concentrators and mills.
  • Broad experience executing multidisciplinary engineering work on large, complex projects across the complete EPC/EPCM lifecycle, including field engineering leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions on highly technical and complex issues by integrating specialist input, project requirements, risk, and client priorities.
  • Proven capability to establish engineering execution plans, schedules, deliverables, staffing strategies, work-hour budgets, forecasts, progress reports, and recovery actions.
  • Experience applying and improving quality systems, project procedures, interdisciplinary checking, document control, stakeholder communications, and engineering performance measures.
  • A track record of implementing innovative engineering approaches that improve execution efficiency, technical quality, team performance, and project outcomes.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 - $195,400
  • MB & ON: $134,600 - $184,600
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $133,200 - $176,900
