Full Job Description
Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Position is responsible for the technical excellence of products and services and to ensure the LSE team achieves all program milestones on time and within budget. Position will also be responsible for providing program support for proposals and new business initiatives. This is a Technical Leadership role that will lead and manage the execution of Logistics & Sustainment Engineering (LSE) Scope across the entire program, to include Design for Sustainment (DfS), Logistics Engineering/LPD/LSAR, PHS&T Engineering, Supply Support, Inventory and Material Analytics, Spares Modeling and Analysis, Sustainment Requirements Mgmt., Configuration Mgmt. (CM) and Data Mgmt. (DM) and Reliability, Maintainability, Testability (RAM-T) Engineering, FMECA Support & Technical Publications, Training. Typical duties may include: • Ensures technical integrity of the functional products through program phases (initial design, development, integration, test, production, fielding, and sustainment). Plan, organize, develop, and/or integrate program assigned functional efforts. Implement functional processes, methods, and practices on assigned program(s) • Participate in requirements development for Product Support scope of work. • Participate in technical and programmatic reviews and meetings. • Interface with customer and program office for area of responsibility • Support the program's System Engineering Integration Team and Integrated Product teams for functional discipline. • Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Screening Board. • Evaluate functional product design and all changes to assure compliance with program and customer requirements. • Establish the preliminary functional design criteria, specifications, and engineering test programs for scope of work. • Participate in reviews or provides guidance and counsel to programs and management in area of technical expertise. • Assist program to understand tasks and skills/experience required to perform tasks. • Provide timely communication and interface with functional and program organization as required. • Report status of technical performance. • Participate in technical and programmatic reviews and meetings for subcontractor management related to area of functional responsibility. • Implement and monitor functional measurement plan on assigned program(s). • Evaluate proposal package for conformance to customer requirements and technical risks. Basic Qualifications • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance. • Strong technical background • A broad knowledge and solid understanding of the principles and analysis of all LMMFC / DoD Logistics and Sustainment Engineering disciplines including Logistics, Technical Publications, Training, Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Maintainability, Human Factors and System Safety) and Configuration/Data Management and how they interact with the other Engineering and Technology disciplines. • Proven ability to work successfully across functional groups and with internal and external customers. • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Logistics and Sustainment Engineering Practitioner. • The ability to personally perform detailed Logistics and Sustainment Engineering trade studies and analysis. • Proficient with Microsoft Office • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups. • Willing to work overtime, and travel as needed to support program requirements. • The ability to interface with Engineering teams to jointly solve difficult technical issues. • The ability to interface with multi-disciplined Program / Customer teams to achieve Program Mission Success (Production Operations, Contract Management, Subcontracts Management, Quality, Business Ops and Program Management). • Understanding of the general principles of life cycle cost and associated tools / analysis. • Degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment. Desired Skills • Existing Secret clearance • CAM Certified • Experienced in multiple LSE disciplines and application across multiple programs • Military experience or experience successfully working with DOD customer. • Experience successfully managing Government Work Authorization (GWA) contracts and cost management practices. • Project Management experience and successful track record • Missile system test and integration experience • System Engineering requirements development and management experience • Risk identification and management experience • Engineering Degree Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00 The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics. • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
