  • Our last #NationalMentoringMonth recognition post goes to two volunteer coaches who #MentorIRL through sports. Tyson Konen (top photo), supervisor, pipeline operations, in Windom, Kansas, said he wants his players to feel proud of their abilities and successes, building confidence for future endeavors. Shane Wyatt, plant operator, in Maysville, Oklahoma, played football on the high school team he now helps coach. Through coaching, Shane hopes to instill the importance of giving back, self-discipline, work ethic and good sportsmanship in his players. Thank you to all of our employees and to all of you who volunteer to mentor others!
  • Another #MentorIRL we would like to recognize this #NationalMentoringMonth, is Susan Crenshaw, supervisor, engineering, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mentoring is a way of life for Susan, which she does through the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance Math Mentors program, Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma, OSUs Engineering program, Tulsa Area United Way community groups and ONEOK business resource groups. She credits the many mentors she has had throughout her life, for building her passion for mentoring. It is hard to be what you cannot see, she says and hopes that through mentoring, she can encourage others to accomplish their goals. #WeAreONEOK #ONEOKGivesBack
  • As we previously shared, our 2018 Environmental, Safety and Health Calendars feature artwork created by employees children and grandchildren. For January, Emmon, an eighth-grade student, illustrated the danger of phishing, a technique used by hackers to steal personal information. Quick tip: Use caution when clicking links or opening attachments from unknown email addresses. Scrutinize websites or callers asking for your personal data. Its ok to ask why they need it and how it will be used. Thanks, Emmon, for the great illustration of this important #safety tip!
  • As we continue to celebrate National Mentoring Month, we would like to recognize #MentorIRL Lance Wade, supervisor of pipeline operations, Mont Belvieu, Texas. Lance is a Big brother at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston and is very passionate about mentoring. I want to be a positive example and show that hard work brings success," he said. He added that volunteering at career days gives him the opportunity to share the importance of math and science education. Here he is pictured with one of his Littles, Jonathan. Fun fact: They learned how to sail together! #WeAreONEOK #NationalMentoringMonth #ONEOKGivesBack
