Full Job Description
Title: Project Engineer
Location: Freeport, TX
Additional locations may include Oyster Creek, TX

Salary: $105,000 - $150,000
Schedule: 9/80 or 5-8s
Relocation Available

Focus: The Project Engineer supports the planning and execution of capital and expense projects across Olin's Texas Operations facility - a large, integrated chemical manufacturing complex. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and other project managers, the Projects Engineer helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget utilizing project engineering practices. This role offers hands-on experience with project methodologies, Front-End Loading (FEL), and regulatory requirements in an OSHA PSM and EPA RMP environment.

Project Engineer Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist in developing and executing capital and expense project scopes, estimates, schedules, and engineering deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support application of FEL methodologies by collecting data, evaluating alternatives, and documenting risks and assumptions.
  • Help coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, and contractors to support safe and efficient project execution.
  • Participate in tracking project progress, risks, and performance metrics and assist in preparing updates for project leadership.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, hazard analyses, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement efforts with mentorship.
  • Support construction, commissioning, turnover activities, and maintain proper documentation including management of change (MOC) requirements.
Project Engineer Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering related roles; Chemical manufacturing or related industry experience required
  • Basic understanding of project management principles, engineering designs, and industrial safety practices.
  • Basic knowledge of stage-gate processes, earned value management, and project controls best practices, preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible during off hours to support plant operations
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
