Overview

This position will be based in our Calgary, Alberta offices supporting a transformative major rail project in downtown Calgary!

Your role

  • Support the Technical Services Team Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers in the execution of their duties.
  • Support the management of technical and non-technical interfaces within the overall Green Line team and City of Calgary asset owners.
  • Work to integrate feedback from operators, and stakeholders in development of the final Technical Performance Requirements.
  • Coordinate designs, construction, and final acceptance with other City of Calgary divisions and/or Business Units.
  • Participate in risk identification and management, monitor, and mitigate risks.
  • Interface, support, and coordinate the design in alignment with the Project Lands.
  • Participate, oversee, and navigate design in technical meetings, (including but not limited to design criteria challenge sessions, review comments resolution), risk reviews, change management, claims and disputes resolution, and provide support for reporting.


About you

  • 5-10 years of engineering experience in an infrastructure project engineering context. Experience in the areas of LRT systems, municipal infrastructure, public/institutional buildings, bridges, tunnels, or systems engineering will be preferred.
  • P.Eng. or equivalent or eligible to obtain P.Eng. status (or equivalent) within 2 years.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with ability to communicate requirements and outcomes as they pertain to technical subjects.
  • Skills with project engineering software suites including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others are considered an asset.
  • Experience with cross disciplinary engineering design coordination and/or alternative project delivery models is an asset.
