What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our Products Operations Project Controls team. This role reports to the Manager of Products Operations Project Controls and works closely with Operations, OSG PM leadership, and project managers to support cost control activities, project deliverables, and accurate financial and regulatory reporting.

The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments, including Pipeline Accounting, Regional Management, and various support groups, acting as a key liaison to ensure effective project cost management and reporting. This person thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and can successfully balance multiple priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

What You Will Do

  • Create and update project cost reports.
  • Prepare AFE/PRN write-ups (as assigned) and monitor them through the review and approval process.
  • Collaborate with project managers and PM leadership to track and monitor project spending.
  • Update monthly forecasts, including current and future year spend, Estimates to Complete (ETC), and Estimates at Completion (EAC).
  • Maintain and update cost reporting tools and reports (e.g., forecasting tools, QBR, MPR).
  • Identify cost overruns, monitor contingencies, and track project completion dates.
  • Perform mitigation actions for supplemental funding requests, invoice issues, purchase orders, and cost transfers.
  • Coordinate and distribute weekly/monthly FLASH reports with operations, accounting, and finance teams.
  • Conduct budget analysis, including variance reviews, approved changes, and program or project expansions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, including GAAP and FERC requirements where applicable.
  • Analyze and report on cost variances, trends, and irregularities, identifying root causes.
  • Research and calculate project accruals, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Review change orders, commitments, and verify accruals as needed.
  • Develop ad-hoc and KPI reports to support data requests and cost review meetings.
  • Participate in budget, forecast, and cost review meetings with leadership.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and updates.
  • Support special projects, including occasional on-site project support.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in project cost control, finance, or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and cost control practices.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements.
  • Experience with budget and forecast analysis, including variance and change management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting project managers in cost control, forecasting, accruals, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Lawson (or similar) for data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work in a team environment and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet deadlines and support special projects.
  • Accountability, reliability, and adherence to schedules and company policies.
