Position Overview

Join our team as a Project Controls Manager and play a pivotal role in advancing a dynamic and emerging nuclear market. This position demands an expert with substantial experience in industrial construction to ensure excellence in project delivery. Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, continuous refinement, and upkeep of comprehensive project schedules and detailed cost estimates to guide budgetary planning and resource allocation.
  • Closely monitor project milestones and performance metrics, promptly identifying potential deviations or risks, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Establish, oversee, and improve project control systems and standardized procedures to maintain efficiency and compliance across all phases of construction.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders to align project objectives and drive cohesive execution.
  • Compile, analyze, and present insightful project status reports and forecasts to senior leadership to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practice methodologies within project controls.
  • Mentor, empower, and manage a professional team of project control specialists, fostering continuous learning, high performance, and a culture of excellence.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline complemented by advanced certifications where applicable.
  • Over 15 years of proven experience in project controls with a focus on industrial construction projects, demonstrating depth in complex cost management and scheduling.
  • Demonstrable expertise in nuclear construction project environments, evidencing familiarity with specialized regulatory frameworks and safety protocols.
  • Proficient use of industry-standard project management software and tools, exhibiting the capacity to leverage technology for accurate project tracking and reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical prowess paired with strong problem-solving abilities to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear reporting and collaboration across diverse teams and leadership levels.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
