Full Job Description
We are seeking a Project Control Officer to contribute to the IT PMO mission by acting as a trusted partner and advisor to Project Managers and the PMO. You will ensure the reliability, consistency, and analysis of project steering data to provide clear and objective visibility on performance, variances, and risks. Through their control and advisory role, the Project PCO supports decision-making, commitment compliance, and the application of PMO standards without being directly responsible for project delivery.
YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Act as a steering partner: Support the Project Manager in planning, updating, and analyzing project plans (schedule, costs, risks) to inform decisions without taking over delivery accountability.
Ensure project data control and consistency: Validate the quality, consistency, and reliability of project information (progress, budgets, forecasts) prior to its consolidation and reporting to the Investment & Workforce team.
Provide warning and advisory support: Analyze variances, key performance indicators, and weak signals; identify risks, variances, and potential drift; proactively sound the alarm and recommend corrective scenarios or actions to the Project Manager and other stakeholders (Delivery Manager, Portfolio Manager, etc.).
Bridge the gap between projects and the PMO: Ensure compliance with PMO standards, tools, and methodologies, contribute to reporting and governance, and facilitate smooth communication between project teams and the PMO.
YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Relevant university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in project management.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management. Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
Deep understanding of project management methodologies (mastery of traditional, agile, and hybrid methodologies), end-to-end project lifecycle processes (feasibility, planning, closure, etc.), tools and systems (proficiency in Jira, Smartsheet, Power BI, etc.), risk, issue, and change management, as well as data quality and governance.
Advanced written and spoken proficiency in both French and English.
Ability to analyze project data and detect variances and weak signals.
Solid understanding of end-to-end project management processes and tracking indicators (health indicators / RAG).
Ability to challenge and advise the Project Manager without direct authority.
Strong capacity to translate complex data into clear, actionable messages.
Adherence to PMO standards, processes, and traceability, supported by strong document management practices.
