Position OverviewThis role offers a rare opportunity to help invent the next generation of predictive and uptime capabilities for commercial vehicles. We are seeking a technically fluent product leader who can turn vehicle engineering knowledge, connected-vehicle data, diagnostics, and emerging digital technologies into scalable solutions that anticipate service needs, reduce unplanned downtime, and transform how fleets, dealers, and service teams manage vehicle health.
Serving as the critical bridge among Engineering, the program team, and the Digital organization, this leader will translate complex vehicle systems and technical signals into a clear product vision, executable requirements, integrated customer experiences, and commercially viable offerings.
Success requires more than traditional product management: the individual must understand how a vehicle operates, how its major systems and components interact, how failures are detected and serviced, and how engineering decisions affect customers, dealers, uptime, warranty, and lifecycle cost.
The successful candidate will shape the roadmap from concept through launch, align technical and commercial teams around high-value use cases, and create capabilities that establish a new standard for proactive vehicle support which ultimately promote increased vehicle utilization and tangible reduction in customer downtime cost.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion the product vision and roadmap for next-generation predictive, diagnostic, and digitally enabled uptime capabilities that do not yet exist in market or within the current portfolio.
- Serve as the primary product and technical bridge among Engineering, the program team, Digital, data science, service operations, and commercial stakeholders, creating shared clarity from early concept through launch and scale.
- Apply deep knowledge of commercial vehicle architecture, major vehicle systems, components, diagnostics, fault behavior, maintenance, and repair processes to identify high-value opportunities and challenge technical assumptions.
- Translate engineering concepts, vehicle data, diagnostic signals, and customer operating needs into prioritized use cases, system requirements, digital workflows, acceptance criteria, and integrated product capabilities.
- Partner with engineering and technical teams to assess feasibility, dependencies, data availability, integration requirements, failure modes, validation plans, and tradeoffs across vehicle, cloud, portal, mobile, and service environments.
- Lead discovery and product-definition work for new capabilities, converting ambiguous future-state opportunities into a disciplined roadmap, sequenced releases, and clear decisions.
- Develop business cases, customer-value hypotheses, pricing and packaging recommendations, cost and profitability analyses, and commercialization strategies for predictive and uptime offerings.
- Design and lead vehicle, fleet, dealer, and service-network pilots that validate technical performance, diagnostic accuracy, workflow integration, customer value, adoption, and operational readiness.
- Establish measurable product and engineering success criteria, using vehicle data, pilot results, customer feedback, service outcomes, and financial analysis to accelerate learning and guide investment.
- Ensure new capabilities connect seamlessly to dealer and fleet workflows, service orchestration, parts and repair processes, warranty, contract administration, sales channels, and customer-facing digital experiences.
- Represent product priorities in engineering reviews, architecture discussions, program governance, cross-brand forums, and executive decision meetings, clearly articulating technical implications and business impact.
- Create momentum across complex organizations by surfacing risks early, resolving gaps in ownership or requirements, and holding technical, digital, commercial, and operational teams accountable to a shared outcome.
