Job Summary Vertiv is seeking a Product Manager to lead the Vertiv OSP product portfolio within the racks product line, serving telecommunications, broadband, fiber distribution, utility, transportation, and edge infrastructure markets.
This role is responsible for the overall business performance, product strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management of Vertiv's Outside Plant (OSP) enclosure portfolio. The Product Manager will gather and analyze customer requirements, develop market-driven product roadmaps, identify growth opportunities, and work cross-functionally to drive profitable growth.
The successful candidate will serve as the business owner for the OSP cabinet portfolio; balancing customer needs, competitive positioning, product innovation, operational execution, and financial performance while supporting Vertiv's broader infrastructure solutions strategy.
Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Portfolio Ownership - Own the P&L performance, growth strategy, and lifecycle management of the Vertiv Outside Plant product portfolio.
- Define and execute product roadmaps aligned to telecom, broadband, utility, fiber distribution, edge computing, and communications infrastructure market trends.
- Develop business cases for new products, line extensions, portfolio rationalization, and acquisitions.
- Establish pricing, positioning, segmentation, and value propositions for OSP solutions.
Market & Customer Engagement - Serve as the Voice of Customer leader for the product family.
- Engage directly with telecom operators, broadband providers, utilities, distributors, contractors, and EPC firms to identify emerging requirements.
- Monitor market trends including fiber-to-the-home, broadband expansion, BEAD-funded infrastructure projects, edge communications infrastructure, utility modernization, and network densification.
- Conduct competitive analysis and develop strategies to increase market share.
New Product Development - Lead NPDI activities on assigned products from concept through commercialization.
- Develop market requirements documents and product specifications.
- Partner with engineering teams to prioritize investments and product enhancements.
- Support technology roadmaps related to outdoor enclosures, fiber management, DC power integration, thermal management, security, monitoring, and communications infrastructure.
Commercial Enablement - Support sales teams with product training, customer presentations, and strategic opportunities.
- Develop sales tools, launch materials, value propositions, and competitive positioning.
- Support strategic customer engagements and major bid opportunities.
- Partner with channel, distribution, and marketing teams to accelerate growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership - Coordinate activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Pricing, Sales, Marketing, and Product Line Management.
- Drive alignment around business objectives and launch priorities.
- Monitor product performance and implement corrective actions as required.
Financial & Business Responsibilities - Achieve revenue, margin, market share, and growth objectives.
- Develop annual operating plans and product forecasts.
- Manage portfolio profitability and investment priorities.
- Support strategic planning, market sizing, and growth initiatives.
Qualifications Required - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field, required.
- Minimum 5 years of product management, preferred. 5 years experience within business development, engineering, or technical sales considerable.
- Experience with telecommunications, broadband, fiber infrastructure, utility infrastructure, outside plant products, or related markets, highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, business case, and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred - Experience with Outside Plant infrastructure, fiber distribution networks, telecommunications equipment, outdoor enclosures and cabinets, broadband deployment projects, utility infrastructure, or edge computing infrastructure.
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
- Familiarity with telecom service providers, broadband operators, utilities, and distribution channels.
