We9re looking for a Product Manager to define that platform.
You9ll focus on the infrastructure and operational capabilities that let enterprises run Retool confidently at scale. This includes deployment infrastructure, observability, admin tooling, access controls, audit logging, and programmatic management through APIs, infrastructure as code, and MCP.
AI agents introduce a new class of platform problems. Their workloads can be longer-running, more dynamic, and less predictable than conventional applications. They also create new requirements around isolation, reliability, resource consumption, failure recovery, and administrative control. You9ll help determine how Retool9s platform should evolve to meet those requirements.
This is a platform product role, not a forward-deployed role. You9ll work closely with sophisticated customers to understand their environments, then turn recurring needs into durable capabilities that work across Retool9s customer base. You9ll partner directly with engineering on technical and architectural tradeoffs and lead focused projects from discovery through launch and adoption.
You9ll join a small, experienced team that values clear thinking, speed, and direct communication, at a company where product is a core driver of how the business grows.
IN THIS ROLEYour goal is to make Retool the easiest platform for enterprises to deploy, operate, and scale AI-powered software and agents securely and reliably.
You9ll work across problems like:
- What deployment platform should Retool provide as AI-generated apps and agents move from prototypes to business-critical production workloads?
- How should Retool run, isolate, scale, and recover agentic workloads while meeting enterprise requirements for reliability, security, and cost?
- What observability and controls do platform teams need to understand health, failures, resource consumption, and cost across apps, workflows, and agents?
- How can AI help platform teams diagnose issues, manage capacity, and operate Retool more effectively at scale?
- What should the API, infrastructure-as-code, and MCP surfaces look like for organizations managing Retool across complex environments?
Day to day, you9ll:
- Set the strategy and roadmap for your area, grounding priorities in customer evidence, technical constraints, and business impact.
- Lead projects from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Work directly with engineering on infrastructure, deployment, observability, data connectivity, and access-control systems.
- Make clear product and architectural tradeoffs without waiting for broad consensus.
- Work with platform engineering, infrastructure, and security leaders at enterprise customers to understand how Retool fits into their environments.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success while maintaining a strong point of view on which customer needs should become scalable platform capabilities.
- Define success through outcomes such as deployment time, reliability, operational burden, and enterprise adoption.
THE SKILLSET YOU9LL BRING- 4+ years of product management experience building infrastructure, developer-platform, or technically complex enterprise software.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment products. You can reason about areas such as compute, networking, orchestration, multi-tenancy, observability, reliability, and self-hosted environments.
- The technical depth to participate credibly in architecture discussions and evaluate tradeoffs with senior engineers.
- A track record of turning ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into clear product direction and shipped outcomes.
- Strong product judgment. You form opinions, make decisions, and course-correct as you learn.
- Experience working directly with technical enterprise customers and translating their constraints into product priorities.
- The ability to distinguish recurring platform needs from one-off customer requests.
- Strong ownership and the willingness to stay close to the implementation, not just the roadmap.
- Hands-on curiosity about AI. You have built or experimented with modern AI tools and understand how agents, LLMs, and autonomous workflows differ from conventional applications.
Prior AI product-management experience is helpful, but not required. We9re equally interested in experienced infrastructure and developer-platform PMs who want to apply that depth to the emerging problems created by enterprise AI.
