This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Production Specialist for their Syracuse, NY Operations. This position will support the Manufacturing organization in ensuring their respective program meets, or exceeds, schedule and financial objectives, that all deliverables are fully compliant with customer technical requirements and all milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures production team adherence to company, business, program and site policies, procedures and defined processes.
  • Coordinates the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of manufacturing program contracts.
  • Accountable for shop performance to targets in Cost, Quality, Schedule, 6S and Continuous Improvement
  • Reinforce a culture that values and embraces continuous improvement
  • Ensures tooling, workplace layouts and staffing are aligned to meet capacity needs
  • A working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning, Resource and Capacity Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management and Shop Floor metrics.
  • Support Production Operations through collaboration with cross functional teams, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, Parts Production Control, Engineering, and Program Management.
  • Engage in proposals involving manufacturing content, estimates and/or concept of operation


Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
  • Ability to work both in a team and individually
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Eligible to readliy obtain a US Government clearance


Preferred Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Current DoD Production Specialist experience
