Full Job Description
Software Developer, Product, Growth & AI Agents Total Life • Hybrid, Vancouver, BC
The role We're a small team that ships fast, and we want a self-starter who thinks in funnels and builds with agents. You'll own the full client lifecycle, from the first touchpoint through booking, care, billing and re-engagement. You'll also build growth features into the platform itself, so every patient, family member and partner becomes a channel to the next patient. You won't wait for a spec. You'll spot the drop-off in the data, ship the fix, watch the results and keep iterating.
What you'll do
Own the full client lifecycle (acquisition, intake, eligibility, scheduling, sessions, billing and claims, retention and re-engagement) and make every handoff smooth
Design and build agentic systems that automate outreach, intake, insurance checks, appointment reminders, billing follow-up and re-engagement
Build re-engagement flows that spot patients at risk of dropping out of care and bring them back at the right moment, through the right channel
Build referral and growth loops into the product: patient and family referrals, provider and partner referral tools, and shareable moments that bring in new patients without paid ads
Ship features and products quickly, often in days, not quarters
Monitor what you ship: set up event tracking, dashboards, alerts and experiments, and report on what moved conversion, lifecycle and referral metrics
Connect agents and features to our real workflows: CRM, scheduling, insurance eligibility, billing, SMS and voice
Build evaluation and monitoring so agents stay accurate, safe and compliant in a healthcare setting
Work directly with the founder, operations, billing and marketing to turn bottlenecks into automated systems
Requirements
What you bring
2-4+ years building production software, full-stack preferred
Strong, hands-on experience with Go or willingness to learn quick
Hands-on experience building with LLMs: tool use, multi-step agents, prompt design and evals
Fluency with data. You're comfortable with SQL, analytics tools and experiment design, and you can explain what moved a metric and why
A track record of owning a funnel, lifecycle or growth metric and improving it
Experience building referral, viral or retention features into a product, not just running campaigns on top of one
A self-starter who picks the right problem, scopes it and ships it without being told
Comfort working on a small team where you wear many hats and your work is visible
A product eye: you notice friction and design simple solutions
Bonus: health tech, billing or claims systems, HIPAA, voice or SMS AI, or products for older adults
Benefits
Why Total Life
Build AI agents and growth systems that put real patients in front of real clinicians, with outcomes you can measure
Own the whole lifecycle, not just a piece of it
A small team with high ownership and a direct line to leadership
A national platform that's still early enough for you to shape it
Equity and salary package in a high growth environment
