Job DescriptionSummary: The Product Consultant plays a key role in driving the development and delivery of strategic product initiatives within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance space. This role focuses on leading complex, large-scale projects, managing third-party vendor relationships, and partnering closely with Agile teams to deliver high-impact business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong product acumen, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills to translate business strategy into executable product solutions.
This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Essential Responsibilities: - Lead the planning and execution of large-scale product initiatives aligned with organizational goals and customer needs
- Translate strategic objectives in order to influence product roadmaps, features, and deliverables
- Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for product innovation, operational efficiency, and market differentiation
- Ensure alignment between product vision, regulatory requirements, and business priorities
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and Agile delivery teams (Scrum/SAFe)
- Define and refine product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives
- Support prioritization of the product backlog to maximize value delivery and maintain alignment with strategic objectives
- Develop a strong understanding of data and reporting functions, leveraging insights and influencing outcomes to support business objectives and informed decision-making.
- Provide ongoing guidance to development teams to ensure solutions meet business and customer expectations
- Manage end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
- Coordinate across business units, IT, underwriting, claims, and operations to ensure seamless delivery
- Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints, and proactively drive resolution
- Track progress against milestones, budgets, and timelines; provide regular updates to leadership
- Oversee relationships with external vendors, including technology providers, data partners, and consulting firms
- Define scope, expectations, and performance metrics for vendor deliverables
- Ensure vendor solutions align with internal architecture, compliance, and business requirements
- Monitor vendor performance, manage contracts, and resolve issues to maintain delivery quality and timelines
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across product, IT, actuarial, underwriting, and operations
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Facilitate decision-making by providing data-driven insights, trade-off analysis, and recommendations
- Drive alignment across competing priorities and stakeholder perspectives
- Participate in Regional Strategy Team discussions to help ensure the product roadmaps align with the key strategic needs of each region.
Qualifications / Experience Required: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field
- 4 - 8+ years of experience in insurance (P&C preferred), product management, or consulting
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product delivery frameworks
- Experience building and maintaining effective partnerships with third-party vendors and external business partners.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience Preferred - Experience working in P&C insurance products (e.g., policy administration, claims, billing, underwriting)
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe
- Experience with digital transformation, platform modernization, or system implementations

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Albany and Chicago Pay Range: $96k - $120k
