Job DescriptionThis is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, coordinating multidisciplinary work, and seeing their designs become operating equipment.
The OpportunityAs a
Process Engineer / Project Manager, you will lead custom process-equipment projects through the full design-build-deliver cycle. You'll own process design, project coordination and client communication, ensuring equipment is delivered safely, on time and aligned with project requirements.
You'll work directly with clients and lead internal teams across process, mechanical, electrical and automation design, fabrication, testing and commissioning.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Design & Technical Leadership- Develop conceptual and detailed process designs for custom fluid-processsystems.
- Create process descriptions, flow diagrams, P&IDs and equipmentspecifications.
- Perform mass-balance, heat-transfer, hydraulic and thermodynamiccalculations.
- Specify major equipment, valves, instruments, piping and utilityrequirements.
- Provide technical input to mechanical, electrical and automationdesign.
- Lead technical reviews and ensure compliance with safety, code andquality standards.
Project Leadership & Client Management- Champion projects from concept through fabrication, testing andcommissioning.
- Establish priorities, coordinate resources and maintain projectmomentum.
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams to resolvetechnical and commercial issues.
- Track scope, schedule, budget, risks and decisions; escalateconcerns early.
- Manage vendors and subcontractors, including scope, deliverablesand performance.
Fabrication, Testing & Commissioning- Support fabrication teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Respond to shop-floor questions and resolve constructabilityissues.
- Plan and participate in factory acceptance testing and on-siteequipment testing.
- Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting andvalidation.
- Capture lessons learned to improve future designs and projectexecution.
Requirements- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- P.Eng registration in Ontario or eligibility.
- Experience in process-system design, equipment design or projectengineering.
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to practical designchallenges.
- Strong project-management, organizational and prioritizationskills.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with clients,vendors and trades.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the regionserved.
