JOB DESCRIPTION

You will partner with senior stakeholders to envision complex programs, align priorities, and mobilize teams to deliver outcomes with lasting impact. You will help teams operate with clarity, discipline, and momentum while strengthening a collaborative culture that develops and retains top talent.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager within Commercial and Investment BankPayments Technology team, you will lead end-to-end programs that span multiple business areas and regions. You will translate strategic goals into executable roadmaps, improve operating rhythms, and ensure delivery teams have the structure and support needed to deliver high-quality results. You will work across the program lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through implementation, change management, and continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional programs from definition through delivery, including scope, business case development, planning, execution, and change management
  • Partner with Business, Operations, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to elicit, document, prioritize, and validate requirements
  • Facilitate workshops to define processes, use cases, scenarios, workflows, and operating model improvements
  • Design and improve processes and supporting business applications to increase efficiency, control, and transparency
  • Develop and maintain program governance, including status reporting, scorecards, metrics, risks, issues, dependencies, and decision logs
  • Guide teams in data collection, analysis, and synthesis to produce evidence-based recommendations and improve program reporting
  • Create clear materials for executive communications, steering forums, and stakeholder updates
  • Build an inclusive, high-performance culture by coaching leaders, developing talent, and fostering strong collaboration across teams
  • Proactively identify delivery risks and constraints, propose mitigations, and drive timely decisions to keep programs on track
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate program planning, dependency/risk synthesis, and executive-ready reporting, validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity requirements
  • Promotes reuse-first, AI-assisted practices for program governance and continuous improvement routines, ensuring human review and alignment to delivery standards

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 10+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in large organizations
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and geographies
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, including coaching, talent development, and organizational leadership
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, risk management, and operational discipline
  • Advanced analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate ambiguity into clear requirements and plans
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including leading workshops and influencing senior stakeholders through clear, concise storytelling
  • End-to-end delivery experience, including scoping, implementation planning, change management, and agile ways of working
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in the safe use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment for architecture and delivery workflows, including validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to evaluate AI-assisted recommendations before adoption and set review/approval expectations that align to resiliency, security, and auditability outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced training in a relevant field
  • Project or program management certification (for example, Project Management Professional certification or PRINCE2 certification)
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation in financial services, operations, or technology organizations
  • Experience establishing program governance models and building key performance indicators to track outcomes and value delivery
  • Experience improving processes through lean, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies
