Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)The roleStorable brings together many products, built at different times on different systems. Operators, partners and AI agents need to work with all of them as one platform, and every call can reach tenant records, payments and facility access. You'll own how everyone builds on Storable, end to end: one consistent set of APIs across our products, a secure MCP server that lets AI agents act on Storable safely, and the standards underneath that keep every interface consistent and reliable.
What you'll do- Own the API layer that makes Storable's products work as one platform: one consistent way to reach tenants, units, leases and payments, whichever product they live in.
- Define the shared resource model behind it with engineering and product teams: common entities, IDs and behavior across products.
- Own Storable's MCP server and make it secure from day one: authenticated access, scoped permissions, tenant isolation, audit trails and protection against misuse, on the same identity and business logic as our APIs.
- Set the standards every Storable interface follows: authentication and permissions, errors, versioning, pagination, rate limits, documentation and deprecation. Product teams, including Data & Analytics and AI Agents, decide what their APIs return and what their agents do. You own how every interface behaves.
- Decide which products and capabilities come onto the platform first, based on what operators, partners and our own agents need most.
- Make it work for everyone who builds on Storable, from a single operator's script to large portfolios and partners, with the right scopes and limits at each level.
- Measure what matters: coverage across products, reliability, latency, security incidents and time to a first working integration.
What you bring- Experience as a technical product manager owning APIs, a developer platform or integration products end to end: the interfaces, the platform behind them and the developers who use them.
- Experience putting one consistent API over multiple products or backend systems: shared resource models, consistent IDs, and keeping data and behavior consistent across sources.
- Strong understanding of how APIs work at scale: REST and event-driven design, idempotency, pagination, rate limiting and backward compatibility, and what each choice costs in reliability, latency and developer effort. You can read an API spec and call endpoints yourself.
- Deep knowledge of API security: OAuth and scoped permissions, tenant isolation, audit logging and least privilege.
- Hands-on experience building with MCP or LLM tool calling, and a clear view of the risks specific to agents, such as prompt injection and over-permissioned tools.
- A record of driving adoption of shared standards across teams you don't manage.
- Excellent writing. Your product and technical documents are clear enough that teams can decide and build from them.
- You prototype and test integrations yourself with modern tools, including AI.
Nice to have- API gateways, API management or identity platforms.
- Building integrations between vertical SaaS and the third-party systems customers already run.
- Testing how well AI agents use your interfaces: whether they pick the right tool and call it correctly.
