This is a high-impact role supporting major capital projects, electrical testing, predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and the long-term reliability of critical generation assets serving communities across Georgia.
The Principal Electrical Engineer provides senior technical leadership across OPC's power generation fleet, partnering with plant teams, engineering, operations, maintenance, contractors, and project stakeholders to solve complex problems, improve performance, and support safe, reliable plant operations.
What You'll Do- Lead complex electrical engineering work supporting generation assets and major capital projects
- Provide technical direction for electrical systems, equipment, testing, troubleshooting, and reliability initiatives
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to improve long-term asset performance
- Partner with plant operations and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve reliability
- Review engineering studies, designs, specifications, standards, and contractor deliverables
- Identify technical risks, recommend solutions, and support continuous improvement across OPC's fleet
- Serve as a senior technical resource for electrical engineering questions, standards, and best practices

Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field required
- 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience required
- Power generation maintenance or plant engineering experience preferred
- Experience supporting capital projects, electrical testing, troubleshooting, or reliability programs preferred
- Professional Engineer license or advanced technical certifications preferred, if applicable
