Full Job Description
Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is looking for a Senior Manager of Pricing to join a collaborative national pricing team based in Toronto. This is an opportunity to help shape how the firm approaches pricing, matter management, and data-driven decision-making across a diverse portfolio of clients and matters. Working closely with the Director of Pricing, partners, business development, finance, and legal operations, the Senior Manager will bring together pricing expertise, project management discipline, and business intelligence to support commercially sound decisions throughout the matter lifecycle.

The Senior Manager will support the Director by managing complex client and partner relationships, high-value matters, and strategic growth initiatives, while embedding pricing intelligence and project management best practices into the firm's legal service delivery.

The primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy and Governance

  • Create, track, and evaluate pricing scenarios for clients by applying appropriate pricing methodologies, matter budgets, and profitability assumptions across legal practice groups, while ensuring alignment with firm policies and profitability targets.
  • Manage and oversee pricing inputs for RFPs, pricing approvals, discounts, and alternative fee arrangements requiring Management Committee review or approval.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models, budgets, and profitability analyses for client matters, proposals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication and collaborate with stakeholders and practice groups on rate-setting exercises, budget development, client negotiations, panel submissions, and strategic pricing decisions to ensure pricing aligns with client needs and firm objectives.
  • Support the development of pricing best practices, including benchmarking initiatives and standardized approaches to matter pricing.
  • Review and analyze pricing results, translating findings into clear, concise business insights and recommendations for key stakeholders.
  • Provide portfolio-level reporting for key clients and matters, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Use sound judgment to manage issues and requests, effectively prioritize work, balance resource requirements, and determine practical solutions.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.


Data, Analytics & Systems
  • Champion strong data governance and the effective use of pricing, reporting, and matter management systems.
  • Evaluate opportunities to use artificial intelligence and automation to improve pricing and matter management processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen stakeholder support.
  • Ensure reliable comparable-matter analysis, benchmarking, and matter insights to support informed pricing and delivery decisions.
  • Develop and deliver dashboards, reporting, and insights on matters of financial performance, realization, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and enhance scalability through better use of data and technology.


Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of pricing analysts, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and client-focused culture.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Director, partners, practice group leaders, and firm management on pricing strategy, project management, matter economics, and profitability.


Skills and Experience
  • CPA designation and/or MBA
  • 6+years of relevant experience in managerial role in financial planning and analysis, pricing, finance, or a related field, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset to communicate with our Montreal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels and liaise effectively with partners and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in pricing, project management, process improvement, or legal operations is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-jurisdictional or high-value matters and client portfolios.
  • Results-oriented with a client service mindset and ability to deliver under tight deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SAP, Tableau, Power BI, and related platforms.

The salary bands provided reflect the typical range for this role in the region indicated. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of experiences and skills, and final compensation will be thoughtfully determined based on individual qualifications and current market factors. Please note that salary will be discussed and negotiated during interview.
Toronto: $128,300 - $158,500
