Practice Innovation Attorney

McKool Smith | Hybrid

Practice Innovation Attorney to lead the firm's adoption of AI and legal technology. This attorney-facing role will drive attorney education, AI-enabled workflow design, and responsible AI governance, helping attorneys leverage emerging technologies to enhance efficiency, improve work product, and deliver exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver AI training programs, workshops, and one-on-one coaching to build attorney proficiency with generative AI tools across the firm.
• Develop practical training resources, including prompt libraries, user guides, and best practices that support attorneys at every stage of AI adoption.
• Partner with attorneys, practice groups, IT, and Knowledge Management to identify opportunities to integrate AI into legal workflows, including research, drafting, document review, and other core legal tasks.
• Lead AI pilot programs, evaluate adoption, gather feedback, and refine workflows to promote firm-wide utilization and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain AI governance resources, including usage guidelines, best practices, and quality assurance processes that support ethical, secure, and responsible use of AI technologies in compliance with professional responsibility standards.
• Monitor developments in legal AI and emerging technologies, evaluate new tools, and collaborate with vendors to maximize the firm's investment in innovation.
